Mysuru's Hidden Breakfast Gem: The Idli Corner Everyone should try
If you're from Mysuru like me, then you already know that breakfast here is a serious business to be dealt. Still, I recently found a spot that surprised even me - Vinayaka Idli House, tucked near Devaraja Market.
I swear you won't find any fancy decor or big menus here. Because it's a small shop with constant line of hungry locals. The idlis are super soft, which almost melts in your mouth, and the coconut chutney ? perfectly smooth with just the right kick...
But what really makes it special is the Chutney pudi -That spicy, nutty powder that the locals mix with a spoonful of ghee. It adds a burst of flavour that makes you wonder why you ever ate idlis without it.
People stand, eat and talk - there's laughter, the fresh aroma of the filter coffee in the steel tumblers, and for a few minutes, everyone seems to get lost in the time.
I feel sometimes, the best food isn't found in fancy restaurants. It's hidden in corners like these, which is served with warmth and no extra bluff.
Location : Vinayaka Idli House, near Devaraja Market, Mysuru
Price : 40 Rupees for a plate of idlis and coffee
